No one enjoys a sales pitch. They can smell a pitch coming at them from a mile away. And characteristically they run away as quickly as they are able. Going instantly to a pitch is the worst way to create a relationship with someone. It invades their space and time.
A better approach is the un-sales pitch. It involves educating the consumer, giving information and creating buzz. When you first start talking to someone it should be your goal to get to know the person, ask them about their business or what their goals are of starting a business, get them engaged and talking to learn what’s important to them. Jumping the gun and learning nothing about the person will not bring you return business or referrals, in face it makes them feel pressured and they’ll run for the hills.
Most people have reservations about home businesses because they believe the opportunity is nothing but a scam. Approaching people with a hard sale either through warm or cold leads, can actually lead to no sign ups. The idea with network marketing is to promote yourself and build relationships. If you provide a website that is full of helpful information instead of putting up content that is just trying to get someone to join your business, the more likely they will keep coming back to your site and they will eventually ask to join your business without ever asking them to.
If you are not sure what to put on your website try writing “how to” articles. People that are in home businesses are always looking for help to grow their business and “how to” articles are a great way to get them to come back to your website on a repeat basis. Providing these kinds of articles can build a huge fan base of people who trust and respect what you have to say and are more likely to buy products you recommend or join your business. You also want to try to get people to interact with you and a great way to do that is by letting people post comments about your information. It’s also very important to respond to each and every comment to start building the relationship with that person.
Providing useful content or training material will show people how you have been able to build a strong business and they will see that if they follow you they can achieve the same thing. When you first starting talking to someone they are going to have a lot of questions about how all of this will benefit them and how much money they can make. These are the most common concerns that most people have. Another concern is they may not have a lot of training. Or they live in a small town and don’t know a lot of people. If your articles can show them how to simply do it and be successful, you will have a believer.
You can make a lot of money in a home business and the more repeat visitors you have on your website, the better chance you will have at building a large and well educated down line.
